Mischa Barton has spoken out for the first time about being placed under psychiatric hold.

“I went through a tough spot where everything compounded on me, and it was like a perfect storm, like everything was happening to me at once,” Barton tells Time Out New York”.

Mischa Barton slips while leaving her trailer

The former O.C. star was placed under an involuntary psychiatric hold (also known as a 5150) by the Los Angeles Police Department and transferred to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Wednesday evening, a source close to the situation claimed to Access Hollywood.

The trouble apparently started yesterday afternoon, when L.A.’s Finest ended up assisting the 23-year-old with some “medical issues,” a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department told E! News.

“Shortly after 3 p.m., a patrol car did respond to her home to assist her with medical issues,” officer Karen Rayner said. “No one was arrested, and no one else was involved.”
